Online social networking web sites spring up like mushroom after raining. The adoption from individual users side is phenomenal, myspace.com alone has 66m users, and 250,000 new users signing up every day1. Facebook.com has become the seventh-most heavily trafficked site on the Internet, according to market researcher comScore Media Metrix2. Some examples of these web sites are: myspace.com, facebook.com, meetup.com, youtube.com, flickr.com, and delicious. Similar applications have slowly made its way to the corporate world. Examples of its application in the corporate world are: enterprise-wide social bookmarking: tool from IBM called Dogear and enerprise wiki from socialText.

Will social networking become another killer app of the Internet or just a fashion?
